Headteacher’s message to parents/carers
Dear Parents/Carers,
School life is busy and full of opportunities! These happen both inside and outside the classroom, in lessons and at lunchtimes, and through activities like trips, visitors, clubs, responsibilities, sports, Forest School and special event days. Through all of these experiences, children’s characters are being shaped, and we are working with you to support Tunbury children in becoming the people they are going to be. Every child is wonderfully unique with their own strengths, but for all of our children, these are the four specific character traits which we are looking to grow and develop. These four traits are shown below –you’ll already see these logos on the Tunbury Award certificates. How is your child growing into these four areas? Please join us in recognising their progress and celebrating their successes in all of the things they do at home too.
This week, our after-school clubs program for the summer term has begun. We have a new range of clubs including Opal development, Maths investigations, Just Dance and Korfball, as well as continuing favourites such as Ukulele and Spanish. There are still a few spaces in Korfball, Maths Investigation, Netball, Opal Improvement, Spanish and Ukulele Club. If you would like your child to join onto one of these clubs, please email the office with your child’s name, class and preferred club.
Good news – tickets for our first ever Colour Run have been selling fast and we already have enough participants to make this a really fun and successful event for Tunbury. Today is the deadline for booking your place, so please join us! www.pta-events.co.uk/tunbury/
Have a lovely loooong weekend everyone. Monday is a Bank Holiday so we’re back to school on Tuesday next week. Let’s hope for some more sunshine!
Best wishes
Ruth Austin
