Headteacher’s message to parents/carers

Dear Parents/Carers,

This morning we held our Year 6 Leavers’ Assemblies, which are always a very special occasion. This year’s Emerald, Crimson and Violet classes are a wonderful group of amazing young people, who we are all very proud of. We know that they will go on to great things in the future, but they will always be part of Team Tunbury.:)

In the Year 6 Leavers’ Assemblies this morning, the winners of our annual Year 6 Awards were:

Award for outstanding attitude and effort: Harry (Violet)
Award for outstanding attitude and achievement in Maths: Sienna (Emerald)
Award for outstanding attitude and achievement in English: Hayley (Crimson)
Headteacher Award: Lois (Emerald)

I’d like to end the year by sharing my huge appreciation for the Tunbury staff team, who have worked tirelessly this year, as always, to do our very best for every child in our care. It takes a special kind of person to respond to the highs and lows of school life with compassion and unwavering positivity, and Tunbury is full of people who do just that, every day of the school year. Thank you for the cards and gifts you’ve been bringing into school today – our team really appreciates your kindness and support.

In our annual Staff Awards yesterday, our winners were:

Thriving Award: Mr Barrett, Site Manager
Proactive Award: Miss Germany, Receptionist
Solidarity Award: Mrs Fullager, Year 3/4 HLTA and TA

Have a lovely summer holidays everyone. Please take care of yourselves and enjoy your break away from school. We look forward to seeing children back in school for the new academic year on Wednesday 2nd September.

Best wishes

Ruth Austin
Headteacher
