TUnbury Primary SChool
Hello and welcome to Team Tunbury!
I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful school. Tunbury is a special place – a warm, welcoming and successful school community, with high expectations for all. As Tunbury Headteacher, I think I have the best job in the world! It’s such a privilege to lead our school community, enabling our children to children develop, thrive and blossom during their time with us. My very ‘first’ Tunbury Reception classes are now in Year 6, and I am very proud of each and every one of them!
Team Tunbury children are confident, articulate and kind, with a genuine love of learning. Team Tunbury staff are dedicated and talented, able to guide and support our children to achieve their very best. As a Team Tunbury parent/carer, you will be encouraged to get involved in your child’s education throughout their time at primary school.
Tunbury Primary School is located in Walderslade Woods, so we have lots of lovely outdoor space, including woodland areas, a large school field, Forest School, pond, a huge sandpit and three playgrounds. This allows for a range of high quality outdoor learning activities and play.
Tunbury Primary School received a glowing Ofsted report in June 2023, which highlighted the great progress we have made over the past few years and summarised just a few of our strengths. My favourite Ofsted quote was: “Everyone at this school is part of ‘Team Tunbury’. Leaders have created a collaborative community. There is a real spirit of togetherness and inclusion.” Fabulous!
Please take a look around our website to find out more – you may like to read our weekly bulletins, vision and values, curriculum information or drop in to our facebook page for the latest updates. With very best wishes,
Ruth Austin, Headteacher
